This free, simple to use estimating template for house painting is the only tool you need to estimate your painting projects. All your labor is calculated by the hour and your materials are added as a percentage. It is fully customizable to fit your needs.
How to Use this Template
Go ahead and add your information if you would like it included and click “Save”. Keep this template as the original and “Save as” to make copies for each potential customer.
Add Room Name
Click on the first “blue cell” in the “Room” column to display a customizable list of rooms. Select the room of your choice.
Add First Item
Click on the “blue box” under the first “Item” column to display a list of items. Select an item from the list.
Adding Hours
Next, we are going to type the amount of hours we estimate for this item in the “blue box” to the right. Click “Enter” and the amounts will begin to populate. Read further to learn how to customize your labor hour cost and your paint cost.
Complete Items for this Room
Continue entering the items and hours included for the room within the (10) cells that are allotted. Be sure to move from the left to the right filling in the top row before beginning the bottom row for each room.
Customizing to Fit Your Needs
The list of “Rooms” and “Items” are customizable. The hourly rate and the paint percentage cost are also customizable. Simply click on the “Values” tabs at the bottom of the Excel worksheet to access these settings.
Copy/Paste Your Results
If you would like a simple itemized list of each room and the items associated with it, click on the “Copy” tab at the bottom. Then, highlight and copy the cells with the info that you would like to transfer.
